Ranjith Liyanapathirana is a Senior Lecturer in Telecommunications at the School of Engineering, Western Sydney University, Australia. He received BScEng(Hons) degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and MEng & PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Memorial University, St John's, Canada. His current areas of research interest include wireless sensor networks, biomedical engineering, infrastructure health monitoring and engineering education. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles in IEEE/IET journals and conferences. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and ACS. He is the IEEE Student Branch Counsellor at Western Sydney University, and has a hobby interest in Amateur Radio (VK6BHV).
